YOM KIPPUR
Leader and Congregation
Kol. Nidre:
All vows, oaths, and pledges which we may be forced to take between this Yom Kippur and the next, of these we repent and these we renounce. Let them all be nullified and voided, and let us be absolved and released. Let such personal vows, pledges, and oaths be considered neither vows, nor pledges, nor oaths.
May all the congregation of the children of Israel be forgiven and all the strangers who live among them, for
all the people are in fault.
O please forgive the iniquities of this people according to Your great kindness, even as you have pardoned
this people from Egypt until now. For You have told us: "If we confess our sins, You are faithful and just
to forgive our sin~ and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
The Lord said: "I forgive as you have said. "
Yes, it is true, our evil tendency influences us; clear us, Merciful One, so answer us:
I forgive. .
Silence the accuser, let an advocate take his place, O Lord, give our advocate Your support and say:
I forgive.
Confer on us the merit of our Messiah. Remove all sin and loudly proclaim from heaven:
I forgive.
Good and forgiving One, pardon and forgive sinners. O God give heed, and also reply from the heights:
I forgive.
Heal my wound, hide deeply my iniquity; for Your name, on my behalf say the word:
I forgive.
Blot out evil from among Your people; show Your faithful love and Your glory and say,
I forgive.
Cleanse every evil quickly as mist vanishes, blot out the guilt of a people delivered and say:
I forgive.
Remember the atonement of our Messiah Yeshua, "Father, forgive" was on His lips, so say to us,
I forgive.
The Kaddeesh: ( congregation please stand)
Magnified and sanctified be His great name in the world which He has created according to His will. May He establish
His kingdom during your life and during your days, and during the life of the whole house of Israel, even swiftly
and soon, and say Amen.
Let His great name be blessed forever and to all eternity.
Blessed, praised, and glorified, exalted, extolled and honored, magnified and lauded be the name of the Holy One,
blessed is He, though He be high above all the blessings and songs, praises, and consolations which are uttered in
the world, and say Amen.
May He Who makes peace in His high places make peace upon us and upon all Israel, and say Amein.
Bar'khoo et Adonai Ham'vo'rakh (Bless the Lord who is to be praised) Leader and Congregation
Baruch Adonai ham'vorakh l'olam vaed. (Praised be the Lord who is blessed for all eternity)
O Lord, open my lips that my mouth may declare Your praise.
I. Deserving of praise are You, O Lord our God and God of our fathers, God of Abraham, God of Isaac, and God
of Jacob, the great, mighty, revered and exalted God who bestows faithful love -and is master of all. Mindful of
the patriarchs' love for You, You will in Your love bring a redeemer to their children's children for the sake of
Your name.
Remember us unto life, O King who delights in life, and inscribe us in the Book of Life so that
we may live worthily for Your sake, O God of life. O King, Helper, Redeemer and Shield, deserving of praise
are You, O Lord, Shield of Abraham.
II. You are mighty forever, O Lord; You bring to life the dead; You are powerfully able to save. You sustain
the living with faithful love; You bring the dead to life with great mercy; You support all who fall, and heal the sick;
You free the enslaved and are faithful to those who sleep in the dust. Who is like you, Lord of might? Who can be
compared to You, O King? You order death and restore life, and make Your salvation flourish. Yes, You are faithful
to raise the dead. Deserving of praise are You, O Lord, who raises the dead.
III. You are Holy and Your name is Holy and Holy beings praise You daily.
IV. You chose us for Your service from among all peoples, loving us and delighting in us. You exalted us
above all nations by hallowing us through Your commandments. You drew us near, O our King, to Your
service and called us by Your great and Holy name.
V. O Lord our God, be gracious to Your people Israel and accept their prayer. Restore the worship of Israel to
Your Sanctuary and lovingly and favorable receive the offerings and prayers of Israel. May the service of Your
people be always acceptable to You. Omay we witness Your return in mercy to Zion. Deserving of praise are
YOU O’ Lord, who restores Your divine presence to Zion.
VI. We give thanks to You for You are the Lord our God and the God of our fathers for all eternity; the Rock
of our lives, and the Shield that saves through every generation. We will thank You and praise You for
Your care; we entrust our lives to Your hands. Your miracles are continually with us, and Your wonderful
goodness overflows at all times, evening, morning, and noon. You are good, and Your mercy never fails;
You are merciful and Your faithful love never ceases. We have always hoped in You.
For all this, O our King, we will thank You always and praise You forever. O inscribe all the children of Your
covenant for a happy life. And may everyone worship You forever, and praise Your name sincerely, O God,
out salvation and our help. Deserving of praise are You, O Lord, Gracious One; to whom it is appropriate to give praise.
VII. Grant abundant peace to Israel, Your people, and all mankind forever, for You are the Sovereign Lord of Peace;
and may You bless all Your people Israel, and Your children everywhere at all times with Your peace. In the book of
life, blessing, peace and good sustenance, may we be remembered and inscribed before You, we and all Your people,
the house of Israel, for a good and peaceful life. For You have said: '"As for him who overcomes, I will never
erase his name from the Book of Life, but will acknowledge him before my Father and His angels." Deserving of
praise are You, O Lord, who makes peace.
Kedushah
We hallow Your name on earth even as it is hallowed in the heavens above, as described in the vision of Your prophet:
And the seraphim called one to another saying:
"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of host, the whole earth is full of His splendor." As it is written in Habakkuk,
"You are of purer eyes than to behold evil, and cannot look on iniquity."
Ashamnoo -We are Guilty
We are guilty of: arrogance, blasphemy, corruption, evil counsel, hypocrisy, jealousy,
rebelliousness...
May it be Your will, Lord our God and God of our fathers, to forgive all our sins, to pardon all our iniquities, and to cleanse us from all our sins.
Leader and Congregation
Avinu Malkenu:
Hear our prayer. We have sinned before Thee. Have compassion upon us and upon our children. Help us bring an end to pestilence, war, and famine. Cause all hate and oppression to vanish from the earth. Inscribe us for blessing in the
Book of Life. Let the new year be a good year for us.
Oz M'lifnai B'reshit:
Our righteous Anointed is departed from us; horror has seized us, and we have none to justify us. He has borne the yoke
of our iniquities and our transgressions, and is wounded because of our transgression. He bears our sins on His shoulder
that we may find pardon for our iniquities. We shall be healed by His wounds, at the time that the Eternal will bring
Him anew. Hasten the day when He will assemble us a second time by the hand of the one who shall endure forever.
Mi Sheana ( Answer Us )
He who answered Abraham our father on Mount Moriah, his son Isaac bound on the alter. Jacob in Bethel and Joseph
in prison..
He will answer us. He who answered our forefathers at the Red Sea, Moses at Horeb, Aaron with censer, and Phineas
when he rose from the people, He will answer us...
He who ansered Joshua in Gilgal, Samuel in Mizpah, David and his son Solomon in Jerusalem, Elijah on Carmel, and
Elisha in Jericho...
He will answer us...
And so it will be that before they call I will answer them, and while they are still speaking I will
hear their prayer....Because Yahshua our Messiah died for us and rose from the dead, we can now say:
We have been inscribed in the Book of Life forever.
